On the morning of July 11, comrade Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the meetings of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee to carry out the process of electing the Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Attending the Conference were comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Central Party Building Committees; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Party Executive Committee.

The conference was held to implement Official Dispatch No. 10468-CV/VPTW dated July 9, 2024 of the Central Party Office announcing the Politburo's opinion on the nomination for election to the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and appointment to join the Party Committee of Military Region 1; Plan No. 177-KH/TU dated June 26, 2024 of the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee on implementing the personnel process for the appointment of the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Based on the results of implementing the procedures on personnel work in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Central Committee, based on the proposal of the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; the Politburo agreed to introduce comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to be elected by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, the Politburo appointed comrade Trinh Viet Hung to join the Provincial Military Party Committee and the Military Party Committee of Military Region 1.

Accordingly, at the Conference of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the election of the Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term was conducted.

As a result, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, was elected by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Comrade Trinh Viet Hung was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee to replace his predecessor, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hai, who was transferred and elected to hold the position of Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Head of the Delegation Work Committee of the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee.
