On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the First Victory on August 2 and 5 (1964-2024), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial armed forces led by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Ky, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of the 170th Naval Brigade.

Visiting and encouraging officers and soldiers of Brigade 170, Naval Region 1, the Quang Ninh Provincial Delegation and Brigade 170 Navy reviewed the glorious tradition of officers and soldiers of Squadron 135 - the predecessor of today's Brigade 170. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, officers and soldiers of Squadron 135 drove away the Ma Doc ship that invaded our country's waters, achieving the first victory of the Vietnam People's Navy (August 2 and 5, 1964).

On behalf of the delegation of Quang Ninh province, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council expressed his pride in the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the heroic Vietnam People's Navy, and the heroic army and people of Quang Ninh. At the same time, he expressed his respect, remembrance and gratitude to the heroic martyrs and people of Quang Ninh who heroically sacrificed in the First Victory, creating the immortal spirit of "dare to fight, know how to fight and determined to win" of the Vietnam People's Navy and the army and people of the North in the resistance war against the US to save the country and against the destructive war of the US imperialists.

Recording the tradition, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: Continuing the tradition of the predecessor units participating in the victory of the first battle of the Navy in 1964, we vow to unite with one heart, the army and the people have one will, the entire army has one will to resolutely build a revolutionary, regular, elite, modern Vietnam People's Army; build Quang Ninh province into a solid provincial defense area in terms of national defense - security, a cooperative front line, and international economic competition; build the 170th Naval Brigade to be united, coordinated, overcome difficulties, well-trained, and well-prepared for combat. Thereby, contributing to maintaining the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the beloved Northeast region of the Fatherland, absolutely not being passive or surprised in any circumstances.

He also hoped that each officer and soldier of the 170th Naval Brigade would continue to uphold the spirit of a revolutionary soldier, have firm political will, be well-trained, have strict discipline, be ready to fight, not be passive and surprised; and always be closely attached to the Party Committee, government, people, agencies and friendly units in the area where they are stationed.
