On April 2, Eutelsat - SpaceX's rival in the race to provide satellite internet in Europe - began deploying wifi service on passenger planes and business class flights.
Eutelsat is currently providing broadband connectivity to Air Canada aircraft and some charter aircraft, and the company says it has more than 1,000 scheduled aircraft to be installed with the service in the near future.
Eutelsat is trying to become a new alternative to SpaceX's Starlink as many companies in Europe begin to show concern about the moves of billionaire Elon Musk - SpaceX owner and advisor in the administration of US President Donald Trump.
However, Eutelsat is still relying on SpaceX to launch its low-orbit satellites.
European airlines such as Air France have recently used Starlink's in-flight Internet connection service. Starlink currently has 7,000 satellites orbiting the Earth while Eutelsat has less than 700 satellites in low orbit./.
