Identifying ethnic work and socio-economic development in mountainous areas as strategic, important and regular tasks, in recent years, the Provincial Party Standing Committee has focused on leading, directing and mobilizing the entire political system to seriously and effectively implement Conclusion No. 65-KL/TW, policies and regulations of the Central and the province related to this work and has achieved many important results. Awareness and sense of responsibility of Party committees, authorities and people at all levels regarding ethnic work in the new situation have been enhanced; leadership and management capacity has had many positive changes. The socio-economy of ethnic minority areas has developed quite comprehensively. Production and business efficiency has been increasingly improved. Policies on education, health, vocational training, job creation, etc. have been promoted to help improve people's knowledge, health, improve their lives and reduce poverty. The appearance of ethnic minority areas has had many changes. The fine traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups are preserved and promoted. Political security and social order and safety are maintained. Party building, union member development, training and fostering to improve academic qualifications, expertise, political theory, and the arrangement of ethnic minority cadres are given attention. The whole province has more than 22,280 party members, of which 3,510 are ethnic minorities. Ethnic minorities are increasingly aware of taking the initiative to improve themselves in labor and production, and sustainably reduce poverty; believe in the cause of innovation; and well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws.

In addition to the achieved results, ethnic work still has many limitations and difficulties. Compared to the general level of the province, the socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas is still slow and unsustainable. People's lives are still difficult. The progress of completing new rural criteria in ethnic minority communes is still slow, the quality of standards and the work of sustainably maintaining results after achieving standards are still limited. In addition, according to Decision No. 861/QD-TTg dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister, mountainous communes in particularly difficult areas when achieving new rural standards from communes in region III, region II to communes in region I will not enjoy social security policies as before, affecting people's lives...

Speaking at the meeting, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee thanked the Central Government for its attention, leadership, direction and support in helping the province carry out ethnic work in the past time. He explained and clarified to the Survey Delegation some difficulties, limitations, tasks and solutions in the coming time in order to lead and direct the more effective implementation of Conclusion No. 65-KL/TW and the Party and State's policies and guidelines on ethnic work in the new situation. He hoped that the Central Government would continue to pay attention and support, especially supplement and concentrate capital to help the province invest in improving socio-economic infrastructure, supporting diversified production and livelihoods, implementing the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction; at the same time, consider supplementing and adjusting some policies on housing, residential land... in accordance with the practical situation, contributing to helping the locality promote socio-economic development, improve the lives of ethnic minorities.
