In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation members observed a minute of silence to commemorate and express their gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs and 10 legendary female youth volunteers at Dong Loc T-junction (Ha Tinh province).

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Pham Minh Tuan and Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Duy Tan offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Dong Loc T-junction.

On November 24, a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City with more than 100 members, including officials, civil servants and typical advanced "Silent but noble examples" in the patriotic emulation movement of Ho Chi Minh City, period 2014 - 2022, came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the martyrs at the historical site of Dong Loc T-junction. The activity is part of the "Journey to the source" trip organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Dong Loc T-junction is a legendary place in the struggle for national liberation and unification. To maintain the smooth flow of traffic from North to South, thousands of soldiers and people died at this historic place.

The members of the delegation, former Youth Volunteers, were moved to read each name of the martyrs at Dong Loc T-junction.

The most notable of these was the heroic sacrifice of the 10-girl youth volunteer squad at noon on July 24, 1968. The martyrs died while on duty and were very young, between 17 and 24 years old.

On the same day, the delegation also offered incense and flowers at the grave of hero martyr Ly Tu Trong at the Ly Tu Trong Hero Martyr Memorial Area (Viet Xuyen commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province).

Members of the delegation visited the Ly Tu Trong Martyr Memorial House.

Martyr Ly Tu Trong was the first member of the Communist Youth Union, a typical example of patriotism and noble revolutionary ideals of Vietnamese youth. The martyr heroically sacrificed himself when he was just 17 years old.
