VietNamNet reported today (December 18) that the consortium of Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation - Vinaconex, and Lizen Joint Stock Company has just sent a proposal to Project Management Board 7 (the investor under the Ministry of Transport) on putting the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway into operation.

The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway is over 83km long, passing through Ninh Hoa town and Van Ninh, Khanh Vinh, and Dien Khanh districts of Khanh Hoa province. The project started construction in early 2023, with Project Management Board 7 under the Ministry of Transport as the investor, with a total capital of nearly 12,000 billion VND. The route is expected to have 4 lanes, 17m wide, and a maximum speed of 80km/h.

According to the consortium of contractors, the project is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025. However, to date, about 68.35km of the section connecting the starting point of Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway to Van Gia intersection (Van Ninh district) has been completed (8 months ahead of schedule).

Therefore, the contractor consortium proposed that the Ministry of Transport and Project Management Board 7 direct relevant units to carry out necessary procedures to put the nearly 70km expressway section into operation before January 10, 2025, helping people travel conveniently during the Lunar New Year.
