In particular, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri and the Singapore Institute of Educational Management signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in education and training for the period 2023-2027. Based on the content of the memorandum of understanding, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Singapore Institute of Educational Management to organize a workshop on assessing students' foreign language proficiency and applying information technology in innovating teaching methods for high school English teachers for more than 120 teachers from 2 provinces: Quang Binh, Quang Tri and 2 cities: Hue and Da Nang.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training also visited, worked and attended a workshop at the Singapore Institute of Educational Management. Here, the two sides exchanged and shared experiences in school management and administration, training and fostering of management staff and teachers, teaching and learning organization, STEM education; criteria and methods for teacher evaluation; criteria, support strategies, and methods for testing and evaluating student learning outcomes; and the application of information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI) in management and teaching.

The Department of Education and Training in collaboration with VVOB, Belgium organized a workshop on “Sharing practices of managers and teachers in Belgium and Vietnam on applying language-rich learning environments in the context of multilingual preschool education, management and professional development for preschool teachers”, within the framework of the Project “Preschool teachers apply knowledge and teaching skills to create language-rich learning environments for children” in Quang Tri province, period 2022 - 2026.

The Department of Education and Training cooperated with the Dariu Foundation, Switzerland to implement the Project of universalizing digital skills for students in the province; cooperated with the Golden West Humanitarian Organization (USA) to implement the Project "Prevention of child drowning in Quang Tri province" in the period of 2023 - 2024. Quang Tri Pedagogical College organized training in Applied Informatics and awarded full scholarships to many students selected from the two provinces of Savannakhet and Salavan (Laos).

Along with that, the Department of Education and Training has effectively implemented state management of study abroad consulting organizations in the whole province as well as directed units and schools to continue to coordinate with international organizations to receive and implement humanitarian aid projects, support activities for building schools and classrooms, climate change education, disaster risk reduction, and mine prevention. The Department has also coordinated with relevant agencies to effectively manage foreign teachers coming to teach and organize a number of educational activities in the locality.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Department of Education and Training has organized many activities to promote international cooperation in the field of education and training. Accordingly, the delegation of the Department of Education and Training visited and worked with the Association of Vietnamese People in Savannakhet Province. The Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri and the Association of Vietnamese People in Savannakhet Province have implemented the signing of cooperation agreements since 2002.

Every year, the two sides evaluate the signed content, focusing on selecting teachers to teach Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese children in Savannakhet province. From 2018 to 2020, the Department of Education and Training selected and sent 10 teachers to teach at a number of schools managed by the Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Savannakhet province.

Sending teachers to teach overseas Vietnamese children in Savannakhet province plays an important role in preserving and promoting the Vietnamese language for students as well as overseas Vietnamese, while promoting the culture, land and people of Vietnam in Laos. In 2025, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs and related localities to advise the Provincial People's Committee on recruiting and sending teachers to teach Vietnamese and some cultural subjects for students in Savannakhet province. During this working trip, the delegation of the Department of Education and Training also visited and worked with the Lao-Vietnamese Friendship High School in Savannakhet province.

The Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri Province also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in education and training for the period 2025-2030 with the Department of Education and Sports of Savannakhet Province. In order to make the memorandum of understanding most effective, the two sides will specifically evaluate the results achieved as well as the contents that have not been implemented since 2018 to date to agree on the key contents to be implemented in the period 2025-2030.

The signing of cooperation between the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri and the Department of Education and Sports of Savannakhet province is one of the important factors contributing to consolidating and enhancing the close friendly cooperation between the two provinces of Quang Tri and Savannakhet.
