Dak Nong Industrial Joint Stock Company - DNI has introduced a breakthrough solution to reduce industrial waste, building a circular economy by turning industrial waste into unburnt bricks.
In the context of increasingly serious climate change and environmental pollution, recycling and reuse of resources has become a top priority. In Dak Nong province, Dak Nong-DNI Industrial Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as DNI Company) in Nhan Dao commune, Dak R'lap district (Dak Nong) has introduced a breakthrough solution to reduce the amount of industrial waste, building a circular economy by turning industrial waste into unburnt bricks, bringing great benefits to the environment and the community.

Dak Nong-DNI Industrial Joint Stock Company (DNI Company) uses waste (including slag, fly ash) from the thermal power plant (Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV) as raw materials. Previously, the treatment of ash and slag discharged from the thermal power plant was landfill. However, the treatment process was wasteful and costly, affecting the environment. Therefore, after a period of research, DNI Company has turned this waste source into raw materials for the production of unburnt bricks, serving the needs of the market.

Another outstanding advantage of unburnt bricks is their high durability, good water resistance and hardness that is not inferior to traditional burnt bricks. This has opened up a new construction trend, reducing negative impacts on the environment while still ensuring the quality of the project.
Mr. Dao Van Huy, Deputy Director of DNI Company shared: “After being collected by the company from the thermal power plant, the raw materials will be brought to the staging areas. After that, all raw materials will be passed through the crushing, screening, and selection system depending on each type of product and mixed and produced using a production line system using European technology”.

The entire unburnt brick production process of DNI Company is automated. Therefore, it only takes nearly 10 minutes to have 1,500 unburnt bricks from the time of mixing the raw materials. Currently, from this source of raw materials considered as industrial waste, DNI Company is producing a variety of different product lines including: 2-hole bricks, 4-hole bricks, block bricks... and other types of bricks according to customer requirements. After being produced, the products will be soaked in a water tank to increase their maintenance. This is also the difference between these bricks and other unburnt bricks on the market.

In fact, the production of building materials from ash and coal slag from thermal power plants not only saves fuel and does not pollute the environment, but the products also have high strength, good sound insulation, heat insulation and waterproofing. In addition, the products also bring great advantages in terms of cost for projects invested from the State budget, with a price difference compared to other products of 10-20%.

Converting industrial waste into unburnt bricks brings many benefits to both the environment and the economy. First of all, reusing waste helps reduce pressure on landfills, minimizing soil and groundwater pollution. At the same time, reducing CO2 emissions from traditional brick production will contribute to reducing the greenhouse effect and limiting climate change.

The production of unburnt bricks from industrial waste also helps promote a circular economy, optimize resource use and reduce costs for businesses. This is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese construction industry to move towards green, sustainable buildings that meet international environmental standards.

To continue to meet the diverse needs of the market, DNI Company is currently preparing to install new production lines and focusing on optimizing existing technological processes to meet market needs and launch products other than unburnt bricks.
The company's products are currently supplied mainly to the Dak Nong province market, neighboring localities and the Southern region. The factory's current capacity is about 25 million tablets/year and will increase to 30 million tablets/year. Due to the huge market demand, the products are continuously ordered by many sources.

After 7 years of operation, with many new initiatives and innovations, DNI Company has launched a variety of high-quality products. The products also promptly meet the Government's policy on utilizing ash and slag from thermal power plants as construction materials as well as taking advantage of locally available raw materials. In 2023, the proportion of unburnt bricks brought to the market by DNI Company will reach 55-60% of the total construction brick output of Dak Nong.

To promote the use of this ash and coal source, the company has been providing additional concrete products from ash and coal slag produced by the company to combine with stone 1,2 to serve the construction of rural traffic routes.
According to Mr. Dao Van Huy, Deputy Director of DNI Company, the product has been constructed at projects in Dak Nong province such as: the road section to the waste treatment area of Dao Nghia commune (Dak R'lap) ensuring standards for serving the routes...

As one of the enterprises located in Dak Nong province, in addition to effective production and business, it also creates jobs for local workers with stable income. Over the years, DNI Dak Nong Company has been an enterprise actively participating in social security work, contributing to promoting the local socio-economy.

In the future, with the development of science and technology and increasing awareness of environmental protection, converting industrial waste into unburnt bricks has the potential to become a sustainable development trend in the construction industry. This not only brings economic benefits but also contributes positively to environmental protection.
