Dak Glei strengthens handling of students violating traffic safety

Faced with the above situation, to ensure traffic order and safety in the area, Dak Glei District Police have directed the traffic police force to coordinate with the police of communes and towns to arrange forces to set up checkpoints and conduct mobile patrols to both propagate, remind, deter, and promptly detect, handle, and prevent violations.

From the beginning of 2024 to now, through patrolling and controlling, the Traffic Police force of the District Police discovered 147 cases of students violating road traffic safety order, temporarily detained 146 vehicles and 1 vehicle registration. In particular, the main violations were: not wearing helmets when driving, sitting on motorbikes, electric vehicles; carrying more people than prescribed; not being of legal age to drive motorbikes according to regulations, not complying with traffic safety rules and issued decisions to fine 126 cases with a total amount of 51 million VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Y May - Deputy Head of Dak Glei District Police said: Following the direction of the Provincial Police as well as the District Traffic Safety Committee on strengthening the work of ensuring traffic order and safety for students in the new situation, the Traffic Police force of Dak Glei District Police has stepped up inspection and handling of students violating the Road Traffic Law, especially during rush hours before and after school. After detecting and handling cases of underage students driving motorbikes, the working teams will make a record, then ask the students to sign a commitment not to re-offend and verify the owner of the violating vehicle, and invite parents to come to the police station to sign the commitment. At the same time, a list of students violating the law will be compiled and sent to the school to deter, educate, raise awareness and consciousness of strictly complying with the Road Traffic Law.

Thanks to the determination to strictly handle cases of students violating the Road Traffic Law, recently the awareness of students and people has been clearly raised.

With the motto of prevention as the main, Dak Glei District Police have also implemented many working measures, including focusing on propagating, disseminating and educating the law on ensuring order and traffic safety widely among all classes of people to raise awareness of law compliance of traffic participants. In addition, the district police and the police of communes and towns coordinate with junior high schools and high schools located in the area to organize propaganda, learn about the Road Traffic Law in schools and organize games, instruct students on safe driving.

With synchronous solutions, together with the efforts of all levels, sectors and the awareness of traffic participants, the situation of students violating traffic safety order has recently decreased significantly. To ensure traffic safety for students, in the coming time, Dak Glei District Police will direct the Traffic Police force to not only strengthen patrols and controls but also promote propaganda for students at all levels with many forms and rich content and coordinate with schools to continue building the model of "Traffic safety school gate, ensuring security and order", contributing to raising awareness of compliance with the Road Traffic Law for students in the whole district.
