These notifications are sent from organizations/accounts impersonating Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and its member and affiliated units.
Fraudsters have taken advantage of VNU's reputation to send emails, text messages, or contact via social networks, asking students to provide personal information, transfer admission fees, application fees, program participation fees, etc.
Specifically, fraudulent and personal gainful acts are carried out in many forms such as sending sophisticated fake notifications about being accepted into international student exchange programs, receiving scholarships to study at foreign universities, financial support... via email, text messages, online meeting platforms (Zoom), and social networks.
In addition, creating fake documents, forging signatures of officials and seals of VNU or member units to request personal information, bank accounts, or deposit money in violation of regulations.
The subjects also set up websites, fanpages, and social network accounts impersonating VNU and its units to approach and defraud students.

To ensure the rights of students and learners, VNU recommends absolute vigilance and attention.
Do not provide personal information, bank accounts; do not transfer money upon any request without verification through official channels;
In all cases, it is necessary to verify information directly with the training unit or contact the Office/Department of Cooperation and Development of VNU for authentication before making any transaction or providing any information.
To promptly prevent online fraud from occurring, causing damage to families, individuals and affecting the reputation of VNU, when detecting suspicious signs, it is necessary to immediately report to the Office or the Cooperation and Development Board of VNU or the competent authorities.
