Former vice principal returns as chairman of Thu Dau Mot University council

Mr. Le Tuan Anh used to be the vice principal, now he returns to be the chairman of the Board of Directors of Thu Dau Mot University, the public university with the most students in Binh Duong.

On March 3, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee (representing the governing body) - presented the decision recognizing the election results for the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thu Dau Mot University to Associate Professor, Dr. Le Tuan Anh.

Mr. Tuan Anh was the former Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Binh Duong province (the department has just been reorganized and merged, one part transferred to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the rest merged with the Department of Science and Technology).

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, born in 1968, former Chairman of the Board of Thu Dau Mot University, received a decision to retire early.

Thus, within just 6 months, Thu Dau Mot University has changed its board chairman twice.

Previously, in September 2024, Dr. Cuong was elected as Chairman of the University Council of Thu Dau Mot University to replace Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan, and Dr. Xuan became the school's principal (the two positions of Chairman of the University Council and Principal were interchangeable).

Thu Dau Mot University is the public university with the largest number of students in Binh Duong, under the Provincial People's Committee. The school trains about 20,000 students and trainees each year, is a financially autonomous school with about 400 billion VND in tuition revenue (2022-2023 school year).

Associate Professor Dr. Le Tuan Anh was born in 1974, received a master's degree in computer engineering from Kyung Hee University (Korea) and continued to complete his doctoral program there in 2012.

Dr. Tuan Anh was recognized as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor in 2016. He was appointed as vice principal of Thu Dau Mot University in 2018.

In 2020, Mr. Tuan Anh was transferred to the Department of Information and Communications, holding the position of deputy director and then director of this department. Until now, he has returned to school and was elected as Chairman of the Board of Thu Dau Mot University.
