At around 4:00 p.m. on October 23, CSB 8002 ship docked at Dung Quat port (Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) and handed over fisherman Bui Thanh Vu, who suffered a stroke at sea, to the Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard to take him to the hospital for further treatment.

At around 7:00 a.m. on October 22, while on a mission to search for 12 missing fishermen from a Quang Nam fishing boat in the Truong Sa sea area, CSB 8002 received information that fishing boat QNg-95690TS was fishing 300 nautical miles east of Quy Nhon (17 nautical miles from CSB 8002) and reported that crew member Bui Thanh Vu (born 1975, Binh Dong commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai) had suffered a stroke, was in a state of being awake and unconscious, and was deaf in one ear.

Mr. Kieu Tan Thi, captain of fishing boat QNg 95690TS, offered to help treat the injured crew member and support his return to the mainland for treatment.

The Command of Coast Guard Region 2 directed CSB 8002 to contact and support fishing boat QNg-95690TS. At 8:30 a.m., fishing boat QNg-95690TS approached the side of CSB 8002.

CSB 8002 ship approaches the ship with fishermen in distress

The medical team on the CSB 8002 ship went to the fishing boat to support medical examination and health care for the fisherman who had a stroke. After examination, fisherman Bui Thanh Vu was in a state of low blood pressure, sometimes conscious, sometimes unconscious, with a poor prognosis.

At 11:20 a.m. the same day, CSB 8002 completed all procedures to receive fisherman Bui Thanh Vu onto CSB 8002, continue to care for him, monitor his health condition and bring him back to the mainland for treatment.

CSB ship's medical staff provided emergency aid to the victims.

After providing emergency assistance, the CSB ship quickly brought the fisherman ashore for treatment.
