Trang Bom District Police (Dong Nai) are checking the food source to find the cause of 100 workers vomiting and being hospitalized after eating rice paper and Quang noodles. Previously, on May 15, many workers of Dechang Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Giang Dien Industrial Park, Trang Bom District) vomited and had stomach aches and had to be hospitalized after having dinner at the company.

The police are working with the catering unit for Dechang Vietnam Co., Ltd. and confiscated food samples from the catering company.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuoc, Director of Trang Bom District Medical Center, by the afternoon of May 16, the health condition of the workers had stabilized and many had been discharged from the hospital.

The center mobilized nearly 60 medical staff to handle hospitalizations on May 15.

Dong Nai Department of Health has also directed relevant departments to investigate and analyze epidemiology to find the cause of this suspected poisoning incident.

Initially determined, in the lunch of the same day at the company, the menu included braised pork with pickled vegetables, fried fish cakes, squash soup, and boiled cabbage.

Afternoon meal overtime from 4:15 pm to 6 pm, 400 people ate chicken Quang noodles and chicken rice noodles. After eating, many workers showed symptoms of vomiting and stomach pain so they were taken to the emergency room.

Dechang Vietnam Co., Ltd. has about 1,500 workers. The company has a contract to provide meals with the contractor, THP Production, Trade and Service Co., Ltd.
