3 exam sessions, 1 exam location outside Ho Chi Minh City

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will organize a specialized competency assessment exam in 3 rounds. Notably, in addition to the exam site at the school as every year, this year the school plans to expand 1 exam site in Long An.

The specific exam schedule for 3 sessions is as follows:

Master Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Vice Principal of the school, said that the specialized competency assessment exam is organized with many tests: math, physics, chemistry, biology, literature and English. Candidates have the right to choose the appropriate exam session and location. Candidates register for the exam, pay the registration fee online and take the exam on the computer at the exam locations organized by the school.

Candidates can be 11th and 12th graders or individuals who wish to learn about the exam and the test. The results of the specialized competency assessment exam are reserved for admission consideration within 2 years. Accordingly, 11th graders can completely register to take the exam to use the admission results for the following year.

Candidates can choose to register for one or more of the above exams to apply for admission to majors that apply the admission method based on the school's admission plan.

The structure of each exam will be different.

The specialized competency assessment exam will have a test structure with many different types of questions depending on each test group.

The tests assessing math, physics, chemistry, and biology all last 90 minutes. Each test will consist of 50 questions, including 35 multiple-choice questions with 4 options and only one correct answer; 15 short-answer questions, with candidates calculating and entering the results into the answer section on the system.

The test also takes 90 minutes, but the structure of the literature assessment test is different. The test consists of 20 objective multiple-choice questions with 4 options, of which there is only one correct answer; 1 essay on a social argumentative topic. The questions are set in an open-ended format with a requirement to write about 600 words, and candidates do the test directly on the system.

The English proficiency test has the longest test time, 180 minutes. The test uses the English proficiency assessment format from level 3 to level 5 according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam. The test has 4 parts, corresponding to all 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

The results of the specialized competency assessment test are only one column of admission scores.

The specialized competency assessment tests will be converted to a 10-point scale, with scores calculated to the nearest 0.1 point. The results of the specialized competency assessment test will be used for admission according to the school's admission plan by combining high school academic results.

Admission score includes the score of the specialized competency assessment test multiplied by a coefficient of 2, plus the average score of 6 high school semesters of the remaining 2 subjects according to the admission combination.

At that time, candidates who plan to apply for a major will register to take the aptitude test corresponding to that major. For example, candidates applying for admission to the major of mathematics education will take the aptitude test. Candidates can apply for admission to the major of mathematics education using the combination A00 (math, physics, chemistry), the admission score is determined as follows:

Priority points for subjects and regions according to regulations of the Ministry _of Education and Training.
