"Luckily, three parents disagreed."
On the morning of September 30, teacher Truong Phuong Hanh - homeroom teacher of class 4/3, Chuong Duong Primary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), who was reported to have asked parents for money to buy a computer - had a discussion with Dan Tri newspaper reporters about the issues that have been reported recently.
The female teacher explained that she lost her computer at school in the 2022-2023 school year, so she did not have a computer to use last school year.
This school year, the class has a TV so the teacher wants a new computer to prepare lessons and connect to the TV to teach the students better.
"My computer was lost at school, so I thought about socializing education, the government and the people working together. That's why I asked my parents for financial support. If I teach students without computers, the TV will be useless.
But then, the principal called me down to work and explained, instructing me not to accept support money from parents," Ms. Phuong Hanh shared.

The female teacher said that right after receiving the principal's instructions on September 16, when leaving, Ms. Hanh created a vote to agree and disagree on supporting money to buy computers for teachers.
Responding to the reason why she did not immediately refuse despite the school board's directive and also realizing that she was wrong but had to vote, the female teacher said:
"At first, when I held a meeting with the parents' representative committee, I asked for support and all the parents agreed. Therefore, I created a vote to have an excuse to refuse because I thought that if someone had complained to the school, there would be people who would disagree," said Ms. Hanh.
The female teacher added: "I feel lucky because there are 3 parents who disagree, so I'm also happy because I have an excuse not to accept support from parents."
After 3 parents expressed their disagreement, the teacher asked, "Which child's parent?". According to the teacher's explanation, there were 38 parents in the class but 47 people in the Zalo group, so the teacher didn't know who was who.
"I just wanted to ask who this parent was so I could know. I was afraid that the parent had changed classes or was not my parent, so I asked. Many people thought I was sulking, but I was not angry with the parent. Parents can rest assured that I still love and teach the children normally," said Ms. Hanh.
Regarding the content of not preparing the outline, she said that this is not the teacher's responsibility and she is not angry with the parents for donating money to buy the computer.
The female teacher also admitted that she was wrong when she asked parents to support her with money to buy computers and kept the parent fund. The female teacher also said that she had been tutoring students since September 9 but stopped last week.
"I was wrong for not understanding the circular on socialization and I also hope the matter will be resolved soon," teacher Truong Phuong Hanh shared.
