In the context of many socio-economic difficulties, especially when some enterprises have to reduce production, reduce labor or lay off work, the provincial trade unions at all levels have clearly demonstrated their role in accompanying union members and employees. Since the beginning of 2025, the provincial Labor Federation has directed trade unions at all levels to proactively grasp the living situation, employment, thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees; and increase dialogue with enterprises to find appropriate support solutions.

Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Le Minh Hung said: “The provincial Federation of Labor at all levels clearly identifies that caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers is not only a core task, but also a political responsibility of the union organization. This year, the provincial Federation of Labor has promoted practical support programs such as building “Union Warm Homes”; giving Tet gifts, giving gifts, supporting union members and workers in difficult circumstances; organizing buses to take workers home for Tet; conducting periodic health check-ups for union members and workers; implementing union welfare programs…”.

Specifically, in the first quarter of 2025, provincial trade unions at all levels donated 9 "Trade Union Shelters" to union members with difficult housing circumstances during the 2025 Lunar New Year, with a total cost of 450 million VND. In addition, provincial trade unions at all levels mobilized contributions to the "Trade Union Shelters" Fund for 300 million VND.

In addition, the Union at all levels also organized visits and presented gifts to nearly 10,000 union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers, with a total gift value of nearly 5 billion VND. Activities to support scholarships, take care of the Mid-Autumn Festival... for children of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers who have overcome difficulties and studied well were widely deployed.

WITH MANY PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES

Workers' Month 2025 with the theme: "Vietnamese workers pioneering into the new era", the Provincial Federation of Labor has launched widely to all levels of unions, units, and enterprises across the province. From the beginning of May, many activities have taken place enthusiastically, typically: Workers' Festival with folk games, sports, art performances; organizing "Zero-dong stalls", "Workers'" Market; free medical examination and medicine for unions and workers; launching the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers"; honoring exemplary workers, good workers at the provincial level...

Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Tien Giang Province Dang Van Chien said that this year's Workers' Month will be coordinated by the unit to organize many practical and outstanding activities such as: Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month; participating in the Provincial Labor Safety and Hygiene - Fire Prevention and Fighting Competition; visiting and giving gifts to union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work-related accidents; establishing 2 new grassroots Trade Unions and 1 new Party Cell according to Project 03 of the Provincial Party Committee.

At the same time, coordinate the organization of propaganda and legal consulting activities in enterprises, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of employers and employees in implementing related policies and regimes.

Workers’ Month is not only an occasion to show gratitude to workers but also an opportunity for trade unions to affirm their role in connecting, accompanying and motivating workers. Therefore, not only stopping at activities to care for the lives of union members and workers during Workers’ Month, provincial trade unions at all levels also promote their role in representing, supervising and protecting the legitimate rights of workers.

In 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor directed all levels of the Union to continue to monitor and participate with the sectors in inspecting, examining, and supervising the implementation of labor laws, regimes, and policies related to employees at enterprises.

Dialogue and collective bargaining in enterprises have also been promoted. Many collective labor agreements have been signed with contents more favorable to employees than those stipulated by law. Labor law competitions are held regularly, helping employees understand their rights.

On the journey of caring for union members and workers, the provincial trade unions at all levels are always aware of improving the quality of union organization, building a strong union cadre team, close to and understanding the thoughts of union members and workers. Training skills, innovating working methods, and applying technology in union work are the directions that the provincial labor federation is actively implementing.

In the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to promote its role as a bridge between workers and businesses, improve the quality of dialogue, and strengthen coordination with relevant agencies to protect workers' rights, especially in the context of many fluctuations in the labor market after the provincial merger.
