The People's Committee of Dak Lak province has just announced the results of collecting opinions from voters representing households and voting by People's Council delegates at commune and district levels on the policy of merging Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces.
Accordingly, the vast majority of people and delegates expressed high consensus with this policy. During the consultation, 463,906 voters representing households participated, reaching 98% of the total number of voters representing households. Of these, 448,858 people agreed with the project - equivalent to 96.76% of the participants. The number of voters who disagreed was 14,962, accounting for 3.23%; 86 people had other opinions.
Voters of Tan Loi ward (Buon Ma Thuot city) participated in collecting opinions.
On the side of the People's Council delegates, 3,955 commune-level delegates attended the meeting (reaching 92.58% of the total number of delegates); of which 3,931 delegates approved the policy (92.02% of the total number of delegates); 24 delegates disagreed.
At the district level, 408 delegates participated in the vote (accounting for 89.47% of the total number of delegates); of which 407 delegates agreed (89.25% of the total number of delegates), only 1 delegate disagreed.
The Provincial People's Committee assessed that the organization of collecting opinions was carried out seriously, publicly, democratically, in accordance with regulations and ensuring progress according to the plan. The high consensus rate of voters and People's Council delegates at commune and district levels demonstrated the strong support of the people for the policy of streamlining the apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the state administrative apparatus. This result will be an important basis for the province to take the next steps in the roadmap to merge the two provinces of Dak Lak and Phu Yen in the coming time.
