This afternoon, July 15, at the conference analyzing the score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam subjects, a representative of the independent expert group helping the Ministry of Education and Training analyze and evaluate the score distribution said: "During the analysis process, we were really surprised that the score distribution of English was the best score distribution among the 12 score distributions of this year's exam subjects."

The person who made the above comment is Associate Professor Tran Dang Hung, Head of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Industry.

According to Associate Professor Hung, the English score distribution really meets the standards that test makers want to aim for.

This year, 351,858 candidates took the English exam; the average score was 5.38; the median score was 5.25.

The mean and median scores are relatively close, the range is relatively normal (standard deviation is 1.45). There are 141 candidates who scored 10.

According to Associate Professor Hung, compared to 2024, the above indicators are relatively similar. In particular, comparing the shape of the English score distribution, it can be seen that this year has solved the problem of the English score distribution having 2 peaks.

Provinces and cities that have had many high scores in the past, such as Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Binh Duong , now Binh Duong merged with Ho Chi Minh City), and Hanoi, are still on this list.

Notably, this year, the top 4 provinces with high scores include Quang Ninh and Dien Bien . "Dien Bien only has 504 candidates taking the exam. This year, English is an elective subject, and candidates who choose English are those who have a certain level of confidence in English," Associate Professor Hung said.

It is known that the group of independent experts invited by the Ministry of Education and Training to analyze and evaluate the score distribution are scientists from Hanoi University of Industry and Hanoi University of Education.
