At 27 months old, Huy could not speak, he only played with puzzles. At 5 years old, speaking was just a rough pronunciation. When we tried to help him speak better, he screamed.
Gia Huy (the person sitting in the car) and the Computer Club participated in a competition.
When you were born, there were times when your mother had dark thoughts: the two of you would choose to free yourself so that your father could marry another woman. When Huy was born, your father had to give up many of his ambitions to start a business, give up his qualities as a man in society to take care of you.
A fierce childhood with immense love from parents
Those are memories of the fierce childhood of Tran Nhu Gia Huy, class 11A4, Loc An High School, Bao Lam, Lam Dong - the student who won second prize at the national level in the Office Informatics (Mos) competition in the 2023-2024 school year.
Gia Huy always receives love and encouragement from his parents.
Meeting Huy at his home, we were surprised to see that his room had a lot of books, especially books about technology and mirrors.
Answering our curiosity, Huy said: "Books help me learn many things. Mirrors help me face myself because when I'm sad, looking in the mirror I feel like two broken people looking at each other, and when I'm happy I feel like two successful people are in there."
Unfortunately, being born an autistic child, his ability to integrate with the world around him was very limited, so since he was little, regardless of daily activities, Huy's father and mother always had to be with Huy: exploring together, integrating together, and interacting together.
In grade 3, Huy was lucky to meet Ms. Le Thi Hoai Huong, a teacher who always recognized Huy's progress without demanding anything that Huy's age could do.
She practiced and encouraged Huy to play the drums, and instructed Huy on how to speak tactfully in class. Gradually Huy became more confident.
Reading is Gia Huy's favorite job.
Integrate with the world with passion for computers
Besides focusing and sacrificing everything for their child's progress in integration, from a young age, Huy's parents also created opportunities for Huy to explore and experience other things, especially in the field of information technology.
Since the last years of primary school, Huy's parents let him explore and discover computers and he really found joy in it. Huy said: "Computers bring interesting interactions, beautiful icons and interfaces.
Not only that, the computer gives me a very clear feeling of victory over myself. For example, when I hadn't installed Windows, I was very afraid that if I installed it and the computer broke down, it would be disastrous. But after I did it, the feeling of joy was hard to describe. When I was immersed in it, I forgot all my worries and sadness.
Leaving primary school, thanks to the experiences with his parents and teachers, Huy confidently entered secondary school. However, when entering a larger school, new difficulties arose to prevent this young man who loved to explore from integrating into this new world.
During these years, Huy often felt torn between two worlds: at home, his parents always encouraged him to be very confident, and at school, Huy was sometimes a bit too confident, unintentionally becoming a joke to his friends who didn't know much about him.
After times like that, waves of disappointment and anxiety seemed to surround Huy, making him feel self-conscious and isolated.
And then thanks to the sharing of his parents, the care of his teachers and especially his passion for information technology, Huy actively edited Power Point products, videos of his study group, made posters for the class to participate in various competitions. Gradually, he regained his balance.
In his last years of middle school, Huy was lucky when a close friend of his father gave him an old camera.
And since then, Huy has practiced and passionately recorded portraits and beautiful moments of life, connecting images with technology and social networks and bringing this joy of experience to everyone.
Thanks to this new experience, Huy has more discoveries and friends, helping him become much more confident.

Become a typical student
Gia Huy's passion for information technology only really exploded in the middle of the second semester of grade 10, when Huy registered for the Power Point test of the International Office Informatics program, but only achieved 875/1,000 points.
Then Huy tested the Word section and got a perfect score of 1,000/1,000 points. Huy was selected to join the school team and won high prizes in provincial, regional and national competitions.
When asked how he spends his time studying with such a passion for information technology, Huy said that every day after completing the learning tasks assigned by his teachers, he spends time on his passions. Thanks to that, from middle school until now, Huy has always been an advanced student, an excellent student in all aspects.
Sharing with us about her student, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, homeroom teacher of class 11A4, said: "The more I get to know Huy, the more my initial worries about him fade away. He is a good student, proactive in all plans of the class and himself, always ready to help people around him."
