Preparing for a scientific conference to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the General Staff's traditional day

With the theme “General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army - 80 years of building, fighting and growing, firmly entering the new era of the nation”, the conference will take place on the morning of August 14, with about 500 delegates attending. The conference is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (September 7, 1945 / September 7, 2025).

After checking the preparations for the conference: Festival decoration; art program; display of defense products; security work; program content, conference script... and listening to the units report on the preparation work, concluding the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan requested the relevant forces to coordinate closely so that the conference takes place according to plan and is a great success. Especially, proactively do a good job of welcoming delegates; organizing the conference; ensuring absolute security and safety for the conference; ensuring sound, lighting, logistics...

The conference organizing committee received 80 reports and speeches from leaders and former leaders of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Ministry of Public Security , the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense; academies, schools, research institutes, scientists inside and outside the Army, etc.

Each paper, although explaining specific content, has contributed to clarifying many theoretical and practical issues about 80 years of construction, fighting and growth of the General Staff, especially new issues raised for the strategic staff agency in response to the requirements of the military and national defense cause to protect the Fatherland in the new era.

According to the Organizing Committee, the workshop aims to continue to conduct more comprehensive, in-depth, and complete research on the strategic vision, guidelines, policies, correct and creative leadership and direction of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh towards the Vietnam People's Army in general, the General Staff in particular, and the military and national defense cause; on the process of building, fighting and growing, the heroic tradition, the glorious career, and the outstanding contributions of the General Staff in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland. On that basis, draw experiences and historical lessons to continue to apply and promote in building a strategic staff agency in particular, building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Army in general, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
