At the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of FPT Corporation held on the afternoon of April 6, Chairman of the Board of Directors Truong Gia Binh said that FPT is reaching its position in three hot areas of digital transformation in the world: maintaining SAP/S4Hana or Dynamics 365 Microsoft systems globally; converting Cobol language to modern language and Electric car engineering software. These will be sustainable high growth drivers for many years to come.

Regarding electric cars, Mr. Binh said that Tesla has opened a revolution from mechanical cars to digital cars. However, the car team is not proficient in digital technology, the IT team is not proficient in automotive engineering. The world is waiting for a new type of company that understands both digital and automotive engineering, including mechanics, aerodynamics, electricity, electronics and IoT, AI, Autosar, system integration, safety, security, etc.

FPT is a leader in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a leader in power electronics (PE) for charging and Top5 in electric vehicle engineering software.

The next opportunity is to move from Cobol - a software language that runs on mainframe computers written in the last century - to modern systems. According to FPT's leaders, many large companies are stuck here.

“This is a huge task that takes many years and many businesses are confused about how to do it. FPT has the people, the technology, and the methodology to solve this problem,” Mr. Binh shared.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - General Director of FPT said that the Group is operating the machine globally. At FPT, a programmer in Hanoi writes lines of code into the system. In Japan, another engineer continues to execute the command. On the other side of the world, programmers in Latin America also perform the operation. In many countries, FPT employees complete the project together.

"We call it globalization. FPT people, despite having different skin colors, ethnicities, and working in different time zones, all bring about million-dollar projects. FPT employees are working in 29 countries," Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa shared.

In 2022, IT services contributed 44% of FPT's profit. Overseas markets saw revenue growth of 30.1%, especially in the US with an increase of more than 50% and Asia-Pacific with an increase of 35.7%. The Japanese market showed good resilience in the second half of the year, contributing to a growth of 16%, equivalent to 30.3% in yen terms.

After 23 years of expanding abroad, for the first time FPT reached the milestone of 1 billion USD in revenue from the international market.

The group strives to grow through mergers and acquisitions with major partners such as Intellinet and Intertect to expand its presence in new countries such as Costa Rica, Colombia, and Romania.

Reporting the 2022 business results, FPT General Director said that revenue reached 44,010 billion VND, up 23.4%; pre-tax profit reached 7,662 billion VND, up 20.9%. FPT's profit grew steadily in all three sectors of technology, telecommunications and education. In which, technology is the spearhead that helps the group develop.

Talking about the 2023 target, Mr. Khoa affirmed that the group will continue to grow sustainably with a commitment to increase revenue by 18.8% and profit by 18.2% in the context of many difficulties in the economy and technology industry.

Especially at the age of 35, FPT is positioned to become a happy workplace.
