On the afternoon of August 7, RON 95-III gasoline exceeded the 20,000 VND/liter mark.

Along with that, the price of E5RON92 gasoline also increased by 207 VND/liter, currently at 19,608 VND/liter.

While gasoline prices increased across the board, oil prices increased and decreased depending on the type. Diesel oil decreased by VND268/liter, currently priced at VND18,800/liter; kerosene decreased slightly by VND54, currently priced at VND18,660/liter. Fuel oil alone increased by VND114/kg, currently priced at VND15,647/liter.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the world oil market in this operating period (from July 31 to August 6) is affected by main factors such as: updated information on US tax policies on imported goods of trading partners; OPEC+'s decision to increase oil production in September; the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine... The above factors have caused world oil prices to fluctuate up and down depending on each item in recent days.

In response to the above developments in world oil prices, fluctuations in the VND/USD exchange rate and current regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance decided on a plan to manage oil prices to ensure that domestic oil price fluctuations are consistent with world oil price fluctuations; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy; ensure the harmony of interests among market participants.
