The Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City chose Long Chau Vaccination System as a free measles vaccination site in the measles prevention and control campaign for children from 1 to 10 years old who do not have measles antigen.

Launching a free vaccination campaign to prevent measles

After a thorough evaluation process, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has decided to choose Long Chau Vaccination Unit to accompany the campaign to carry out free measles-rubella vaccination, in order to speed up the vaccination rate for children who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, quickly repelling the measles epidemic in the city.

From September 16, all Long Chau Vaccination Centers in Ho Chi Minh City will begin participating in the free measles vaccination campaign.

Long Chau Vaccination Center System will receive measles-rubella vaccines from District Medical Centers of Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City and carry out completely free vaccination for the prescribed subjects.

From September 16, all Long Chau Vaccination Centers in Ho Chi Minh City will begin participating in the free measles vaccination campaign.

Accordingly, all children from 1 to 10 years old in Ho Chi Minh City who have not been vaccinated or have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine within the past month will be required to participate in this vaccination campaign. All of the above mandatory vaccination cases are 100% free of charge when vaccinated.

Long Chau Vaccination Centers will also operate continuously, including weekends, to serve people, helping the disease control campaign of the Department of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control to be carried out quickly and effectively.

From September 16, according to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, there will be 60 more measles vaccination points at private medical facilities (operating throughout the day, including Saturdays and Sundays), to create the most favorable conditions for parents to take their children for vaccination.

The Department of Health requested vaccination units to direct their affiliated vaccination facilities to coordinate with local medical centers to implement a free measles vaccination campaign until the end of the campaign. The city's vaccine source will be provided by local medical centers.

Viet Duc Friendship Hospital visits and provides support to hospitals in Lao Cai

On September 14, a team of doctors and medical staff, including leading experts from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, visited Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital, Bao Yen District General Hospital, and Bao Thang District General Hospital - where many victims of storm No. 3 are being treated, including the horrific flash flood in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district.

At Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital, the delegation brought 100 units of blood donated by doctors and medical staff of Viet Duc Hospital and 300 million VND in emergency support for the hospital.

Leading experts in the fields of trauma surgery, neurosurgery, and intensive care at Viet Duc Hospital directly examined patients, classified injuries, and shared important professional experiences to help patients overcome dangerous stages.

Viet Duc Friendship Hospital has supported 100 million VND for the family of a medical staff working at Ta Cu Ty Medical Station, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province who died due to being swept away by floodwaters while on duty.

Associate Professor Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, directly examined and reviewed medical records, X-ray films, etc. of the patients.

Many patients suffered serious injuries due to the floods, including children with wounds all over their bodies, their eyes still filled with panic.

At Bao Yen District General Hospital, where many patients who survived the landslide in Lang Nu village are being treated, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh and other doctors held a consultation to come up with the best treatment plan for the patients.

At Bao Thang District General Hospital, the medical team of Viet Duc Hospital also directly participated in consultation, examination and encouragement of patients.

In the floods following storm No. 3, both district hospitals suffered heavy damage to property, equipment, machinery, and medicines. Up to now, medical staff at both hospitals are still cleaning up mud and repairing damaged equipment to ensure examination and emergency care for the people.

Viet Duc Friendship Hospital has supported Bao Yen District General Hospital and Bao Thang District General Hospital with 300 million VND each to help improve working conditions and increase the effectiveness of emergency care at both hospitals.

Lao Cai: Free treatment for patients in flood-hit areas, caregivers receive food support

Information from the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health said that all patients affected by storms, floods and natural disasters in an emergency situation will be treated free of charge (including being taken to central hospitals).

Accordingly, victims with health insurance will receive benefits according to regulations, while those without health insurance will still receive full support for treatment costs.

In addition, relatives taking care of patients at the hospital are being supported with meals. In another development, according to information from the representative of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, as of 9:00 a.m. on September 14, forces found the bodies of 3 more missing victims, bringing the total number of deaths to 51.

Currently, 33 people are still missing in the landslide that occurred in Lang Nu village (Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province).

According to initial statistics of Lao Cai province, as of 7:00 a.m. on September 14, the circulation of storm No. 3 caused prolonged heavy rain, floods and landslides, killing 112 people (Sa Pa 9; Van Ban 2; Bac Ha 20; Si Ma Cai 7; Bat Xat 14; Bao Yen 60); 60 people missing (Bat Xat 3; Bac Ha 14; Bao Yen 43); 84 people (Sa Pa town 17; Bat Xat 10, Bac Ha 17; Si Ma Cai 10; Bao Yen 30).

In addition, storms and floods also caused severe damage to crops, livestock, and people's production and business. Initial damage estimates amounted to over VND3,200 billion.
