TechFest Quang Nam 2024 - theme "Intellectual Property and Digital Technology - Creative Startup Platform" with 2 important event series, including forum activities, in-depth seminars on the content of building the KN ecosystem from May 15 - 17 and product exhibition and trade activities from June 5 - 9.

Over the past 5 days, at 24/3 Square, product display, connection and trade activities have taken place vigorously, attracting a large number of participants and people.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the ideas and product lines at TechFest Quang Nam 2024 are more diverse and richer than in previous years, in the fields of: agriculture, medicinal herbs, food; handicraft products; technology, equipment; ideas and projects from provincial science and technology innovation competitions; ideas and projects of students...

This year’s TechFest Quang Nam has many booths displaying technology, mechanics, especially research projects of students with high scientific and technical content. Typically, all 4 booths of Kien Giang province are outstanding scientific research projects of students.

Representative of the project “Renewable pellets - Contract from Kien Giang sea and soil”, Nguyen Thanh Phuc - a 12th grade Physics major student at Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted, Kien Giang province, said that the focus of the project is to mix plastic waste, rice husks and dolomite (name of a sedimentary rock) into pellets with high economic value, a suitable replacement for fossil fuels that are gradually depleting.

“By participating in the event, I had the opportunity to interact, meet and receive much attention and feedback from organizations, individuals, businesses, etc. I also had the opportunity to interact and experience the ideas and projects of young people and businesses in Quang Nam and many other provinces and cities. The advice and guidance at the event helped me have direction to develop and complete the project” - Phuc shared.

Quang Nam College brings to TechFest Quang Nam 2024 a number of teaching models and many products that are the school's strengths.

Notable are the model of the pneumatic power steering system that drives the hydraulic clutch; the model of the automobile transmission system (Faculty of Automobile Technology); measuring and testing tools for the quality of Ostrich eggs (Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry); energy bars - a specialty of the countryside; cakes, drinks, and products from green agriculture... The school's models, ideas, and products are visited, purchased, and cooperated with by many tourists and locals.

Promoting intellectual property and technology platforms

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu - Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized that TechFest Quang Nam 2024 is upgraded and spread more strongly to achieve the goal of the Provincial Science and Technology Ecosystem by 2030 in accordance with the direction of the central government and Quang Nam province on science and technology.

This event combines the message of encouragement, guiding the community to care for intellectual property protection and strong trade connections in the digital age, as well as creating favorable conditions for the KN business community, organizations and individuals to have effective tools to stimulate innovation, create business advantages towards sustainable development.

Through the product display at TechFest Quang Nam 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van - Director of Hong Van Agricultural Development Cooperative (Phu Quy village, Dai Hiep commune, Dai Loc) shared: "Consumers increasingly trust and choose OCOP "starred" products.

At this event, our cooperative’s 4-star OCOP lemon juice and vitamin-rich products were well received by consumers. Of course, in addition to commerce, we hope that the products will spread more widely after the event.”

The organizers hope that with the convergence of all ecosystem components at the festival, Quang Nam will contribute to building a class of entrepreneurs in the province in particular and Vietnam in general, rich in energy and creativity at the regional and world level.

Speaking at TechFest Quang Nam 2024, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh cited the 2022 Global Innovation Index report, saying that Vietnam's startup ecosystem rose 5 places to 54th after two years of maintaining 59th place in the rankings.

With a tradition of innovation, renewal and aspiration to build the homeland, Quang Nam is known nationwide for its dynamic “Open Creative Science” model with the famous inspirational slogan: “Quang Nam - Open land for Creative Science”.

“The annual Techfest Quang Nam event has become a source of inspiration, attracting the attention of the business community, associations, unions, agencies, and organizations supporting science and technology in other provinces and cities.

The series of events in the Creative Science Week - TechFest Quang Nam 2024 is a favorable opportunity to share connections, exploit resources, domestic and international experts; together come up with initiatives to overcome difficulties and challenges.
