Passionate about Physics since childhood, Ha Duyen Phuc, a student at Lam Son High School for the Gifted (Thanh Hoa) has won many prizes and medals in Physics at competitions.
On July 31, returning from Iran after the International Physics Olympiad, Ha Duyen Phuc and his group received a warm welcome from teachers, relatives and friends. Duyen Phuc said that since childhood, he has loved playing with and learning about technological toys, especially curious about how these games work. When he was in 6th grade, when he was exposed to Physics, Phuc became even more passionate. Also during his secondary school years, Phuc won many awards in Physics competitions for secondary school students.

“In grade 10, I chose to take the entrance exam for the Physics major at Lam Son High School for the Gifted and was the top student. In grade 11, I won second prize in the national Physics exam. In grade 12, I won a 'double' of silver medals at the Asian Olympics (June) and the International Olympics (July),” Phuc shared. Phuc said that to achieve these results, during his studies, he diligently listened to his teachers’ lectures. At home, Phuc reviewed and went online to learn more about the types of questions related to real life.

“Having won a double silver medal in two Olympic competitions, I didn’t think I would go this far. When I was doing the test, I just thought about doing my best,” Phuc confided. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy (Phuc’s mother) said that Phuc is a studious boy and is always trusted and cared for by teachers. His parents only encouraged him mentally and cheered him on to achieve the results he has today.

“Many times, seeing my child worried about not achieving the expected results or staying up late to study, the family could only encourage and advise him to try harder and arrange his time appropriately,” Ms. Thuy shared. Phuc has now been admitted to the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. However, he is still hesitant between studying in the country and studying abroad.

Regarding his student Ha Duyen Phuc, teacher Nguyen Ba Tu - homeroom teacher and Physics teacher said that Phuc was the valedictorian of all specialized classes when entering grade 10. Phuc has always been a serious example in studying and paying attention to the lectures of his teachers. “During his studies, Phuc has won many awards. In grade 10, he participated in the natural science competition and won a silver medal (Olympic for specialized schools); in grade 11, he won second prize in the national Physics competition; at the beginning of grade 12, Phuc won a gold medal in the Northern Delta Coastal Excellent Student Competition and won second prize in the national Physics competition; and a silver medal in the Asian and International Physics Olympiad.
