Morlaye Sylla is not on the Guinea team list for CAN 2024. The reason is not because of professional issues, but because of the player's conflict with coach Kaba Diawara.

It all started with a shirt that Morlaye Sylla was given by Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior. After Guinea lost 1-4 to Brazil in a friendly in June, Morlaye Sylla went to take a photo with them and asked for the Real Madrid player's shirt.

However, the shirt later disappeared from the dressing room. Morlaye Sylla searched the room to find it but found no results.

In a fit of rage, he pointed at head coach Kaba Diawara, accusing him of stealing the shirt. Morlaye Sylla also accused several other teammates of stealing and demanded a search.

Morlaye Sylla's anger and suspicion caused tension in the Guinea dressing room.

Since then, Morlaye Sylla has fallen out of favor with coach Kaba Diawara. Most recently, the player wearing the Arouca club shirt was removed from the list to participate in CAN 2024 despite playing quite impressively for the club.

Guinea are in Group A with Cameroon, Gambia and Senegal in the upcoming tournament. They will play their opening match against Cameroon on January 15.
