Singer Tung Duong touched hearts with MV "Continue writing the story of peace"

“Continuing the Peace Story” was written by musician Nguyen Van Chung 2 years ago and has been successfully performed by a number of singers before. But recently, when Tung Duong performed this composition for the first time in front of 50 thousand spectators at My Dinh Stadium in the national concert “Fatherland in the Heart”, the song created an “earthquake” in the Vietnamese music industry. The male singer’s performance left a strong impression with a vibrant Epic Rock arrangement, a musical style full of epic, heroic and heroic qualities.

From the perspective of the song's composer, musician Nguyen Van Chung shared: "This is a song that is both emotional and heroic, but also has pride in it. If any aspect is missing, it will not be okay. Tung Duong's version is the most complete in both the lyrics and the spirit of the song, like a call to arms in music. For me, Tung Duong is the best performer of the male version of this song."

As for Tung Duong, sharing at the press conference introducing the MV held on August 25 in Hanoi , the male singer said that the song "Continuing the story of peace" touched his heart, making him very emotional every time he sang. The composition by musician Nguyen Van Chung carries a message of gratitude to the previous generations of his father, the generations of people who sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of the country.

After approaching the song and truly sympathizing with what the author conveyed in the lyrics and melody, he decided not only to cover it but also to make a separate MV about the song, with the hope that young people can feel more clearly the noble sacrifices that cannot be expressed in words.

“I made this MV out of my deep love for my homeland. A particularly good song in the current context like Nguyen Van Chung’s “Continuing the Peace Story”, in addition to being spread by artists on stage or colorful audio versions, should also have an MV to connect images and stories from war to peace” – the male singer expressed.

That is also the reason why the MV has very cinematic and simple footage, bringing slices of life and fate of those who bravely fought, sacrificed themselves, and became living symbols that inspire great love for the homeland.

The MV once again marks the harmonious collaboration between musicians Nguyen Huu Vuong and Tung Duong. This talented musician said that, for him, "Continuing the story of peace" needs to be full and full of momentum in the arrangement, the music needs to be heroic to promote the national spirit, but it must be the national spirit of the new era. And he has fully expressed that spirit in his arrangement.

Nguyen Huu Vuong also added a choir to create an explosion in the climax of the song. And more importantly, this musical color is suitable for Tung Duong to freely express the song with the strongest emotions.

In charge of the visual part for the MV is young director Nguyen Viet Dung - who made the success of the MV "Colorful Vietnam" by Tung Duong and the Oplus group released in 2024. Nguyen Viet Dung shared that with a version arranged in the Epic style, the music genre expressing grandeur and majesty will have to have large scenes and strong effects such as smoke, fire... Therefore, the plan to make a cinematic MV with a consistent story was discussed and agreed upon by the crew.

The MV opens with the familiar theme song: “This is the Voice of Vietnam, broadcasting from Hanoi, Capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam!” – familiar words that have gone down in national history, affirming the sovereignty and independence of the country. From there, the MV opens the story revolving around the character of the grandfather - a veteran who was lucky enough to return, living in peacetime but never forgetting the memories of the fierce war years.

It is the pain of losing a life partner in his youth, the sound of bombs falling and bullets exploding in the battlefield, the souvenirs that his comrades hastily left behind before rushing to the battlefield and lying there forever... But along with that great pain, the veteran still silently continues to carry out the mission and responsibility of those who went before - telling the next generation about the heroic and indomitable past of the nation. In the MV, along with the recreated footage with strong cinematic colors, there are also some documentary images of the war.

Appearing as a National Defense soldier in the MV, Tung Duong moved people when performing "Continue the story of peace" with a passionate, strong and emotional voice, sometimes like an urging, calling the army to battle, sometimes as excited as the song of joy of the victorious army returning...

The MV “Continuing the story of peace” also features actress Lan Thy - “muse” Bich Diem in the movie “Em va Trinh”. The character played by Lan Thy is a symbol of the transfer and continuity between generations, passing down heroic memories of the nation’s painful but resilient history; to continue the glorious pages of history, inherit the nation’s traditions, patriotism and the desire to build a strong homeland, growing strong on the path of international integration. That is also the meaningful message that musician Nguyen Van Chung sent in the song.
