The incident did not cause any casualties but led to safety concerns, along with the risk of slowing production and losing market share.

The US Federal Aviation Administration has repeatedly refused to schedule certification for the MAX 7 and MAX 10 models, affecting plans to supply US airlines such as Southwest Airlines and United Airlines, the largest customers for these two aircraft models.
