(CLO) To welcome the new year of At Ty 2025, lacquer artisan Nguyen Tan Phat (Duong Lam ancient village, Son Tay town, Hanoi) has launched a set of "bee and snake jelly" products that are meticulously crafted.

Artisan Nguyen Tan Phat said that the "jelly bee snake" product set includes 45 statues with the theme of snakes (representing the year of At Ty 2025). This is not only a handmade art product but also symbolizes Vietnam's aspiration for development in the era of industrialization and modernization of the country.

In the 12 zodiac animals, the snake is the 6th animal representing intelligence, vigorous growth and resilient, flexible vitality. In addition to that meaning, the snake is also associated with the agricultural life of the Vietnamese people - symbolizing the water element, the source of prosperity and wealth.

Artisan Nguyen Tan Phat always spends a lot of time on each of his products. For him, each lacquer work is like his brainchild and he devotes all his time and passion to it.

"The snake statue is made from jackfruit wood, a familiar wood in most rural areas of Vietnam. This material is often used by carpenters to make beds, cabinets, tables and chairs...", artisan Nguyen Tan Phat shared.

The main material to create the snake statue is jackfruit wood, it takes about a day to create the product. Next is the lacquer painting stage which lasts about a week. The lacquer layer covering the snake creates a brilliant, harmonious combination between tradition and modernity.

Next is the laterite crafting part, which takes about a day. Laterite, a typical material of ancient Vietnamese villages, with its natural yellow-brown color evokes a rustic, familiar yet vibrant feeling.

The "honey jelly" product set was crafted by artisan Nguyen Tan Phat.

"The entire process of making this product lasts about two weeks to produce a finished snake statue, which has the traditional beauty of Vietnam," Mr. Phat added.

The highlight of the "bee and snake jelly" collection is the modern folded shape, the image of a snake wrapped tightly around the laterite, symbolizing strong development but still protecting and preserving national traditions and culture.

Artisan Tan Phat said that in addition to its aesthetic value, this product set is also for display purposes and can be used as an incense burner. The design of the statue allows it to be used as an incense burner, helping to purify the living space and connect with the traditional beliefs of the Vietnamese people.
