In recent times, the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" in mountainous localities has continued to develop in both quantity and quality, spreading in all fields of agricultural, forestry, fishery and service production, arousing the initiative and creativity of farmers in mountainous ethnic minority areas in participating in economic restructuring, crop and livestock restructuring, land accumulation and concentration, application of science and technology, agricultural development, improving productivity and product quality.

Currently, the whole province has more than 34 thousand households in ethnic minority and mountainous areas that have achieved the title of good production and business at all levels, of which 17 production and business households have started and established enterprises. The movement has encouraged farmers to promote the tradition of solidarity and mutual love, helping poor households with capital, seeds, agricultural materials, technical guidance, business methods, creating jobs... Good production and business farming households create jobs for thousands of workers; provide capital, seeds, animals and production experience for households in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives and escape poverty.

The Provincial Farmers' Association has implemented 20 projects from the Central and Provincial Farmers' Support Fund with a total amount of VND 9,600 million for 148 participating households; The Farmers' Association of mountainous districts mobilized to build VND 5,693 million in Farmers' Support Fund for hundreds of farmers to borrow to invest in production development. Through organizing activities, programs, projects, and models, it has created conditions and motivation to encourage farmer members to change their thinking and working methods, boldly invest, actively work in production, improve labor productivity, product quality, transform agricultural production structure, contribute to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development task of the locality; strengthen trust, closely connect the great national solidarity bloc, actively support each other in life, strive to get rich, members are more attached to the association.

Commend, honor and replicate advanced models

Over the years, ethnic minority and mountainous farmers have made constant efforts, overcome difficulties to rise up in labor production, actively responded to movements and campaigns launched by the Central, the province, and the association, from which many typical farmers have emerged. Activities to commend, honor, and replicate typical models among ethnic minority and mountainous farmers have encouraged and motivated farmers to be active in labor production, to rise up from poverty, and to become rich legitimately.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Pham Thi Thanh Thuy acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government, mass mobilization system, Fatherland Front, and organizations in organizing and implementing ethnic minority work in mountainous areas over the past years. In particular, 50 typical mountainous farmers who have successfully started creative businesses and developed household economies in ethnic minority and mountainous areas were honored and rewarded.

In particular, continue to effectively implement resolutions and programs on socio-economic development in mountainous areas; mechanisms and policies of the province on restructuring the agricultural sector, accumulating and concentrating land to develop large-scale, high-tech agriculture; promote the implementation of national target programs on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction and create favorable conditions for capital support, scientific and technical guidance, and encourage people to participate in economic development and get rich right in their homeland.
