Inspecting the A1 Hill Relic, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong requested the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to soon organize a scientific seminar, to consider and propose rebuilding the temple at the location where the French army had previously destroyed to build a bunker with a truncated banyan tree. At the same time, he requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to renovate the entire relic site to serve tourists and do a good job of preparation, ensuring thoughtfulness and completeness to welcome the delegation of high-ranking State leaders to visit and offer incense at the relic site on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
The project to renovate, repair and upgrade the Provincial Stadium has completed over 90% of the work volume. The investor and the contractor committed to completing the project in March 2024. Inspecting the site, the Provincial Party Secretary assessed: The tasks assigned during the inspection on March 19 have been and are being urgently implemented by the investor and contractor. The Provincial Party Secretary requested the investor to continue urging the contractor to speed up the construction progress of the remaining items, ensuring completion according to the set plan; clean up as you go. After completing all items, conduct a general cleaning of the entire stadium area, ready to serve the grand ceremony. The People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City speeds up the progress of urban beautification projects, especially the entrance gates and roads leading to the stadium gate.
Checking the progress of the conservation and restoration of the Him Lam Resistance Center relic, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee to assign specialized staff to closely follow the submission of documents and procedures to seek opinions from relevant ministries and branches to implement the project. At the same time, level the ground, gather all materials and machinery to prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony to build a relief of the Him Lam Resistance Center relic on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism prepared trees for delegates to plant when visiting the relic site; embellished the entire campus of the relic site; and the road leading to the relic site.
At the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument area, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Monument Management Board to renovate; add a lighting system, redesign the seating system for visitors, and arrange free drinking water points.
Inspecting Vo Nguyen Giap Street from Muong Thanh Hotel to Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument; the street from Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument to the Airport; National Highway 12 through A1 Bridge, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City and related units to renovate the streets; plant more trees, add lighting systems, green the median strip in the middle of the road; notify households doing business on both sides of the sidewalk to urgently clean up and sanitize the above areas. The People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City needs to organize a general cleaning of all streets. Particularly for the A1 Bridge area, the Department of Transport is requested to coordinate with the People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City to repaint the bridge railings, repair the lighting system, pave the sidewalks, and renovate the two ends of the bridge. All of the above contents must be completed by April 15 at the latest.
