The image of 19 dogs locked in cages, lying alone in the harsh sunlight in an apartment building in Ho Chi Minh City made many people feel sorry.
Recently, a clip recording the image of 19 dogs left in the yard of an apartment building in District 7 (HCMC) under the hot sun caused a stir in public opinion. In the clip, the dogs were locked in a cage, surrounded by many household items.
Out of pity for the 19 dogs, people living nearby took turns caring for and feeding them.

Dan Tri reporters were present at the apartment building to record the incident. When we arrived, 19 dogs had been taken away, while the belongings were still scattered in the yard.
MC Minh Xu - a resident of this apartment building - shared: "Since the evening of March 2, I have seen 19 dogs placed here and many people surrounding them. The dogs still barked at night but stopped barking in the morning, probably because they were tired. They were locked in cages in the hot sun and looked very pitiful. Luckily, the residents here helped take care of them so the dogs were able to regain their strength."
Another resident said that when she saw the dogs wandering around in the yard, she and some other people living in the apartment took turns taking care of them. They fed and cleaned the 19 dogs and their cages. When the sun started to shine, the residents covered them up and brought the dogs into the shade to avoid the heat.

On the afternoon of April 3, the owner of the 19 dogs - Ms. NP (born in 1989) - returned to the apartment building, then called a car to transport her belongings.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. NP denied abandoning her pets, while emphasizing that she loved them very much. The reason she left 19 dogs and belongings under the apartment building was because she was "forced to move".
Ms. NP said: "I have never mistreated or abandoned the dogs. In fact, I love them like my own children. Since yesterday, I have not been able to take care of the dogs (19 dogs - PV) because I have to find new homes for them. I would like to thank the residents who have helped take care of the dogs while I was away."
Currently, Ms. NP has moved 19 dogs to a pet care spa in Thu Duc City for a temporary stay for 1 week. At the same time, she said that she has found a new place to rent so she returned to the apartment to move her belongings.

Ms. NP said that for the past 3 months, she and her 19 dogs have been living in this apartment under a rental contract through a broker. During her time living here, the apartment owner complained that she was raising dogs that were making noise and affecting other households. After many unsuccessful negotiations, the owner did not want her to continue renting the house, so they terminated the contract.
According to the owner of 19 dogs, the apartment management board has repeatedly complained and forced her to write a commitment: "Whenever the dogs bark, the water will be cut off." She also asked the management board to give her more time to move but was not supported.
"They completely cut off the water to my apartment since the beginning of March, causing me a lot of difficulties in my daily life. I knew I did wrong so I tried to find a new place to live. However, they did not give me time to deal with my personal problems," Ms. NP added.

In addition, Ms. NP also denied being evicted from the apartment for not paying rent. The owner of 19 dogs affirmed that her finances were not so bad that she was in debt.
"I do not raise dogs for business purposes, and I have no need to sell them. If anyone says I don't pay rent, please come here and talk directly. I will show you all the documents for verification. The rent here is not cheap. If I didn't have enough money, how could I dare to rent and raise 19 dogs?" she said.
The apartment management board also confirmed that there was an incident of furniture and 19 dogs in the apartment yard but did not share specific information.
