Implementing Project TH 523 on combating the illegal trading, transportation, storage and use of explosives during the peak period of preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the coastal area, on June 7, in Nam Son village, Nghi Son commune, Nghi Son town, the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard in coordination with the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command caught red-handed 2 subjects, including: Tran Thi Ngoc, born in 1981, in Trung Son village and Nghiem Thi Hung, born in 1985, in Nam Son village, both in Nghi Son commune, Nghi Son town, illegally trading explosives. Confiscated evidence: 10kg of industrial explosives, 500 detonators; 2 mobile phones and 1 motorbike.
The subjects confessed that they bought the above explosives to transport and sell to seafood exploitation vehicles in the area for profit.
Currently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command is directing the crime-fighting force to coordinate with the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command to conduct investigation activities, request evidence appraisal, and based on the appraisal results, initiate criminal proceedings and transfer the case to the competent authorities for investigation and handling according to their authority.
