On September 8, news from the Investigation Police Agency of Chau Thanh District (Tra Vinh) said that the unit had issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain 4 accused who are students of the Tra Vinh Province Drug Rehabilitation Center, to investigate the act of resisting people on duty.

The defendants include: Truong Minh Thien (33 years old, residing in Phu Can commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh); Le Hong Pham (26 years old, residing in Cau Ke town, Cau Ke district, Tra Vinh); Le Hoang Phuc (36 years old, residing in Cau Ngang town) and Nguyen Hoang Nam (32 years old, residing in Hiep Hoa commune, both in Cau Ngang district, Tra Vinh).

According to initial investigation results, at around 4:00 p.m. on August 30, after dinner, drug addicts in area A (belonging to Tra Vinh Province Drug Rehabilitation Center, Da Loc Commune, Chau Thanh District) gathered, shouted, banged on doors, causing insecurity and disorder, and incited them to escape from the facility.

At around 4:30 p.m. the same day, 36 students climbed over the fence to escape; the remaining students continued to scream, smash doors, and throw rocks and hard objects at the management staff; at the same time, they incited and incited students in area B to follow suit.

After the incident, the Tra Vinh Drug Rehabilitation Center coordinated with Chau Thanh District Police and local police to capture the escaped students. At around 8:30 p.m. the same day, 25/36 students were arrested and brought back to the center for disciplinary action.

While taking the students back to the facility, the remaining students in area A continued to agitate, disrupt security and order, throwing rocks and hard objects, breaking the fence to escape and obstructing the police force from performing their duties. At this time, about 31 students escaped (including Thien, Pham, Phuc, Nam) and continued to throw bricks and rocks and use fire extinguishers to spray at the police force on duty.

Phuc and Nam then used an iron bar to break the door lock and break the wall so that nine other students could escape from the rehabilitation facility for the second time. They also continued to break into another room so that five students could escape for the second time.

At 9:50 p.m. the same day, the Mobile Police force coordinated with Chau Thanh District Police to suppress the situation, and the students withdrew to area A and entered their rooms.

The four suspects admitted to inciting and vandalizing the rehabilitation facility. The Chau Thanh District Police Department is continuing to investigate the case, consolidate the case file, and handle it according to the law.
