The Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police is temporarily detaining two suspects to continue investigating and clarifying the act of "illegal possession and use of weapons".

Previously, the Criminal Police Department received information that a number of subjects in the city were illegally storing and using weapons, which posed a risk of causing very serious and especially serious crimes, affecting security and order in the area.

The Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police has assigned detectives to apply synchronous professional measures to verify and collect information and documents related to the subjects. In a short time, detectives have identified the suspect as Nguyen Van Thanh (nicknamed "Thanh Den", 37 years old, residing in Hoa Khanh Bac ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city.

"Thanh Den" is known as one of the most notorious criminals in Da Nang, with many criminal records and extensive relationships with other criminals in the city.

At 10:30 a.m. on September 19, when Nguyen Van Thanh and NPL (27 years old, residing in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district) were driving car with license plate 43A-541.xx to a karaoke bar on Nam Tran street, Hoa Minh ward, the Criminal Police Department's reconnaissance force rushed in to control and arrest them.

Checking the car, the detective discovered 2 revolver-style pistols and 6 bullets inside the car. Through investigation, Nguyen Van Thanh confessed that he bought these 2 guns online in 2022 for "self-defense" purposes.

The case is being investigated by the Criminal Police Department and the subjects will be handled according to the provisions of law.
