In recent times, the Professional Department of the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province has coordinated with functional forces, especially closely coordinated with the specialized agency of the Border Guard Command in fighting and destroying many drug trafficking and illegal transportation lines in large quantities from foreign countries into Vietnam. Since the beginning of 2025, the Border Guard of Ha Tinh province has successfully fought 6 projects and cases (3 drug projects, 1 smuggling case and 2 explosives cases).
Accordingly, as a result of the HT725 project, at 10:00 p.m. on July 17, at the Cau Treo international border gate area (in Ha Trai village, Son Kim 1 commune, Ha Tinh province), the Border Guard of Ha Tinh province presided over and coordinated with the Northern Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force; PC04 Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police and Customs Sub-Department of Region XI discovered and arrested Tran Van Nam (born in 1996), who illegally transported drugs and military weapons.
The seized evidence included 38kg of crystal meth, 3kg of ketamine, 9,000 synthetic drug pills (ecstasy), 1 heroin cake, 1 military gun, 15 bullets (1 loaded bullet) and many fake car license plates.
Regarding the results of the HT825 project, on August 10, at Km67 of National Highway 8A (in Son Kim 1 commune, Ha Tinh province), the Professional Department and the Cau Treo International Border Guard Station presided over and coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police to arrest a subject for transporting a large quantity of drug precursors.
Checking at the scene, the authorities seized 115kg of dried marijuana in a 7-seat car with license plate 37K-366.60, driven by Pham Ngoc Duy (born in 2000, residing in Nghia Do ward, Hanoi ).
Continuing to expand the investigation and search Pham Ngoc Duy's rented residence at 209 Vu Quang Street, Thanh Sen Ward, Ha Tinh Province, the authorities seized an additional 125kg of dried marijuana, hidden in 5 black sacks.
These are two special projects to combat drug trafficking and transportation rings with large quantities of drugs, operating across borders from abroad to Vietnam; the transporters are very sophisticated, constantly changing locations to avoid the authorities.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Colonel Bui Hong Thanh, Commander of the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province, praised and acknowledged the achievements of the officers and soldiers who participated in the successful fight against the case. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, the units need to continue to do well in border diplomacy, coordinate to grasp the local situation, the movements of the subjects on the border, thereby proposing policies and coordination plans to solve the case appropriately, safely and effectively.
