In 2013, the craft of making Dong Ho folk paintings was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Bac Ninh's organization of reenactment of painting fairs is a meaningful activity contributing to preserving and promoting the craft so that UNESCO can consider the dossier "The Craft of Making Dong Ho Folk Paintings" to be included in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.
