On the afternoon of July 31, the People's Council of Bac Ninh province held the 19th session (special session) to review and decide on a number of important contents, promptly responding to urgent tasks in the province's socio-economic development and performing personnel work within its authority.

At the meeting, after listening to the report introducing the candidates for election to the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Bac Ninh province, the delegates of the People's Council of the province voted by secret ballot to elect the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Bac Ninh province, term XIX, 2021-2026.

As a result, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairwoman of the 19th Bac Ninh Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.

Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, born in 1969, has held the position of Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province since November 2019. Ms. Giang has held many leadership positions such as: Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, Secretary of Gia Binh District Party Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Board, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

Previously, on July 10, at the 18th session of the 19th term People's Council of Bac Ninh province, term 2021 - 2026, the People's Council of Bac Ninh province passed a resolution to dismiss Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026, according to the opinion of the Secretariat and the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

After resigning from the position of Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang still holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee. On July 15, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan signed and issued Resolution No. 149 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on personnel work. Accordingly, the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee assigned Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.
