Ba Dinh is bright with flags and flowers

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In these days, when the whole country is looking towards September 2nd to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, there is a historical place associated with a great event: Ba Dinh Square where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. That declaration was written by Uncle Ho at the house at 48 Hang Ngang (Hanoi) and resonated with the heroic spirit of "Nam Quoc Son Ha" by Ly Thuong Kiet in the 11th century and "Binh Ngo Dai Cao" by Nguyen Trai written in the 15th century.

Ba Dinh is bright with flags and flowers

"Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence" - gouache painting by Nguyen Duong.

In the golden autumn sunshine under the blue sky among the brilliant colors of flags and flowers, the image of Uncle Ho appears beautifully in To Huu's poem: "He stood on the platform, silent for a moment - Looking at his children, waving his two hands - His forehead high and his eyes shining - Independence is now seen here". To have this endless day of joy, our entire nation has gone through a journey of many hardships, a struggle with many sacrifices from the founding of the Party on February 3, 1930 to the August Revolution, when the entire nation rose up like a flood breaking the chains of slavery to gain independence and freedom. That was a price to be paid with blood and bones, many heroes and martyrs fell, each bamboo bank, each rice field, each river dike became a heroic battlefield. A Vietnam: "Living firmly for four thousand years - Back carrying a sword, hand softly holding a flower pen" (Huy Can); a Vietnam with the posture of "Standing up shining from the mud" (Nguyen Dinh Thi); A Vietnam with deep affection in the folk songs of the country resounds the oath "Kill the Mongols" against the Yuan invaders in the past and later "Determined to die for the Fatherland, determined to live". A Vietnam associated with the name of President Ho Chi Minh, who left to find a way to save the country with the name Nguyen Ai Quoc, overcoming many dangers to bring the light of revolution back to the Fatherland. He used to stay awake for many nights lighting fires in Pac Bo cave and "The shaky table and chair translated the Party's history" by Lenin stream, Karl Marx mountain, so that today in the middle of Ba Dinh Square, the flags and flowers are shining, he solemnly declared to the whole world : "Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence and in fact has become a free and independent country". Dear Uncle! That is the greatest aspiration of Uncle Ho and the Vietnamese people, which he later summarized into a truth, a message, a will: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom". Poet Nguyen Sy Dai wrote some quite touching verses in the poem “Ba Dinh White Clouds”: “In the procession of people from the North, Central and South - Coming to Uncle Ho, my heart is so peaceful - The sacred simplicity, the historical normality - The clouds still float like that, this month and year”. A solemn and extremely close reverence, a light and bright feeling. A belief and love that reminds us of the great day in the history of the country. The sunlight “The blue autumn sky brightens the declaration” (To Huu) has come to many remote villages in the mountains, weaving many brocade colors with the Independence Day. The bright sunshine of Ba Dinh, with its flags and flowers, stretches across the delta plains, to the Mekong River carrying heavy silt that flourishes the gardens, with the melodious vọng cổ tune, with the sampans on the canals of the South, with the áo bà ba, with the checkered scarves that make up the soul... Suddenly, the poignant melody of the song “Praise to President Ho” by musician Văn Cao resonates in me: “You came back to bring joy. The autumn sunshine shines on Ba Dinh. With your voice still gentle as the voice of the earth and sky. You came back to bring spring to life from the barren land, from the mud, the whole life is awakened”. Autumn is shining on Ba Dinh and from Ba Dinh shines the historical autumn, a revolutionary autumn with bright yellow sunshine and many aspirations like the overflowing emotions that musician Vũ Thanh conveyed in the song “Hanoi in Autumn”: “Like a wistful thought - Listening to the wind echoing through Ba Dinh - Your words from that autumn, the color of the autumn flag from that autumn - Still here, the blue sky and clouds”.

It can be said that 80 years have passed, but the echoes, the colors of flags and flowers, the waves of people have blown up a new green vitality in people's hearts, a green color of hope for a new life. The song "Ba Dinh Sunshine" by musician Bui Cong Ky, set to the poem by Vu Hoang Dich, is like a historical "witness", an excitement, a resonance, a climax, an echo of the national soul. Here, in the sweet and transparent golden autumn sunlight, the red flag fluttering in the wind suddenly becomes sacred with so much heroic spirit and joy welcoming the crowds pouring into the historic Ba Dinh Square with endless joy. That is when: "The wind soars! The flag on the flagpole flutters - The wind soars! Here are so many new sources of life rustling - I come here, listening to the call - Of the revolutionary autumn, the season of golden stars" (Ba Dinh Sunshine). There is a famous saying of beloved Uncle Ho that is not in the text of the Declaration of Independence, but it is the message that shortens the distance between the leader and the people: "I say, compatriots, do you hear clearly?" For the first time, the two words "compatriots" are placed in a solemn and touching atmosphere to remember the origin of the mother Au Co's egg. It is a symbol of solidarity, unity, and common direction. A simple question that acts as a glue to bring the entire mass of people, the waves of people together to shout loudly: Yes! That is the "yes" of a nation: "Every boy dreams of an iron horse - Every river wants to become Bach Dang" (Che Lan Vien).

In these days when the country is rising up, as the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed: "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today"; or General Secretary To Lam emphasized in the renovation and merger with the spirit: "lean - compact - strong - effective - efficient - effective" of the rising era of the Vietnamese people. The spirit of National Day September 2 is spreading to every village, hamlet, and hamlet in every part of the country, reaching everyone as a source of pride to create an infinite strength, turning into practical actions to achieve the highest achievements as a gift to the Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress. In the colors of Ba Dinh, bright with flags and flowers, suddenly echoed in me the song of poet - musician Diep Minh Truyen before the Party flag, red with the blood of the heroes and martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of our beloved Fatherland: "Pink as the color of dawn - Red as the color of my blood, my heart - The golden hammer and sickle shining in the sky - Is the shining hope in my heart".

Yes, the spirit of the immortal September 2nd shines in our hearts.
