Apple has just released the iOS 18.1 update, bringing a series of new features such as Apple Intelligence, call recording and fixing bugs in the old version.
iOS 18.1 is the first major update to iOS 18, compatible with iPhone XS and later. Compatible iPhone users can go to Settings > General > Software Update to download and install iOS 18.1.
Notably, iOS 18.1 has brought Apple Intelligence to the iPhone 16 generation and the iPhone 15 Pro duo. However, Apple Intelligence is still in beta form, so it is not widely available. To use it, users need to go to Settings > Apple Intelligence and Siri and turn it on.

Apple Intelligence is an artificial intelligence (AI) system developed by the company specifically for devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It is a combination of on-device and server-based generative AI models.
Some of Apple Intelligence's standout features include Writing Tools, which lets users write, review, or change text anywhere in apps like Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps.
Apple Intelligence also includes the biggest update ever for Siri, which now recognizes context, giving richer, more natural responses. Users can also ask Siri to perform a variety of actions.
Not only that, iOS 18.1 is also the first operating system version that Apple supports call recording on the phone. Users can select the record button in the upper left corner of the screen when the call is made.
