NDO - After a period of construction, the Phat Tich - Dai Dong Thanh bridge across the Duong River (Bac Ninh) is being rushed to complete and put into use. This is the highest steel arch bridge in Vietnam and has a unique, distinctive design. The bridge has an architecture with 5 load-bearing arches bearing the image of a pair of Ly Dynasty dragons, the dragon's body curled in an S shape.

The approach bridge is designed to be 22.5m wide, with two mixed lanes on each side, each lane is 2m wide, and is 1.75m high from the bridge surface for pedestrians to sightsee and visit. |

The bridge has an architecture with 5 load-bearing arches bearing the image of a pair of Ly dynasty dragons, the dragon body curls in an S shape, in the middle of the arch is a pair of dragon heads raised high, symmetrical to each other over a pearl, symbolizing the moon and the sun. Each dragon body has 12 fins symbolizing 12 months of favorable weather in a year. |

Since March, the bridge has completed the installation of 5 steel arch spans. This is the most technically and technically difficult part of the project. The height from the water surface to the top of the arch is about 87m, the highest in Vietnam. To construct the steel arch span, the contractor had to mobilize an 800-ton crane from the South to travel by water for about a month. |

According to the design, the bridge body is made of reinforced concrete, combined with a steel arch and a suspension cable system on the bridge surface; the bridge cross-section is 22.5m wide, designed with 4 car lanes, 2m sidewalks on each side, the main bridge is 440m long, the northern approach bridge is longer than 623m, the southern one is longer than 173m. |

After completion and operation, the Phat Tich - Dai Dong Thanh Bridge will contribute to the formation of a closed traffic network between the Bac Duong and Nam Duong areas of Bac Ninh province. At the same time, it will connect the region with the Red River Delta provinces and neighboring provinces such as: Hanoi, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong via National Highway 1, National Highway 38, National Highway 5, National Highway 17 and Provincial Roads 276 and 287. |
