The highlight in front of the museum is the 45-meter-high Victory Tower, symbolizing the year 1945 when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The top of the tower is cut at a 60-degree angle, creating a five-pointed star on top.
Standing out in the main hall of the museum is the MiG-21 with serial number 4324, printed on its shell with 14 red stars, representing the destruction of 14 enemy aircraft.
Two MIG-21 aircraft with serial numbers 4324 and 5121, T54B tank with serial number 843 and the map of Determination to Fight in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, are four national treasures, currently on display and preserved at the museum.
On the first day of opening, the Vietnam Military History Museum attracted a large number of people and tourists to visit and learn about history.
Children were excited to learn about the artifacts, weapons, and equipment used by our army and people in wars to protect the Fatherland.
Many international visitors also come to visit and learn about Vietnam's military history.
Elementary school students expressed their pride when they saw and touched the T54B tank numbered 843, one of the two tanks that crashed into the gate of the Independence Palace on April 30, 1975.
