Expressing his gratitude to the teachers, the Minister shared: The education career is full of challenges, the task is glorious and great but also full of difficulties, so each teacher who does his/her job well means contributing to making the education career better.
“Today’s advanced people are those who have contributed more than others to the common cause. On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, I would like to express my gratitude, recognition and remembrance for the merits and contributions of teachers,” said the Minister.
Recognizing the challenges and opportunities of education in the capital, the Minister said: For education in difficult areas, areas with large ethnic minorities such as the Northwest and Central Highlands, the challenge is to overcome difficulties, while the challenge of education in Hanoi is to aim for quality and development.
It cannot be said that rising up, developing and achieving high quality is easier than overcoming difficulties. Overcoming difficulties is cruel, developing to reach high levels is also cruel.
Hanoi education is very large in scale, with nearly 2.3 million students, 123,000 teachers, and the largest number of educational institutions in the country. This is where education is expected to be of the best quality, exemplary for the whole country, demonstrating the new spirit of education.
This is where parents are highly educated and demanding. This is where the whole country and society look. Therefore, Hanoi education is full of challenges.
But Hanoi education is also full of opportunities, that is the attention, the economic - social center of the whole country, the university system, the system of experts, international cooperation...
The problem is that if we take advantage of favorable conditions, promote tradition and have a suitable approach, we will achieve good results.
In fact, in recent times, the city has made strides and constantly strived to achieve good results.
“Once again, I acknowledge and commend the achievements of the Hanoi education sector and the contributions of individual teachers,” the Minister emphasized.
According to the Minister, those who are considered, honored as advanced, exemplary, and excellent in the tradition of education are already very precious. In the period of innovation, when the industry's work is full of difficulties, those who do excellent work are even more precious and are considered to be people who can do difficult jobs.
Currently, when implementing the 2018 General Education Program, teachers are the focus to promote innovation.
The extent to which a teacher's innovation can be achieved is the limit of innovation. A teacher who cannot surpass himself cannot expect innovation in teaching and learning and other results.
Teachers are gradually shifting from the model of equipping knowledge, assessing and testing knowledge to the new model of teachers. These are people who still need a solid and profound foundation of knowledge but know how to organize, guide, and orient students to adapt and accumulate knowledge on their own. Therefore, methods need to be renewed, and the teachers' mindset needs to be renewed.
“The qualities and abilities of students that we want to have first of all require innovation and improvement of both the qualities and abilities of teachers.
We demand that education create new capacities and qualities for students, but this will not be possible if the capacities and qualities of teachers do not change.
Therefore, today's honor will certainly be for those who have been successful in self-renewal and innovating teaching and learning methods," the Minister affirmed.
Emphasizing the keyword "spread", the Minister said: Advanced people are only truly advanced when they not only do well for themselves but more importantly, need to spread.
Because now in the process of innovation, those who go deep into their work and have good capacity will succeed first. Those people need to support others, support their colleagues, support their school and other schools.
We need to spread what we have experienced, what we have appreciated, what we have innovated, and we need to spread the new, the positive, the warmth of an education system that is forming new values.
Referring to the need to strengthen the image of teachers, the Minister expressed: We "first blame ourselves, then blame others". First of all, we should not complain, should not be ashamed, should not resent, but we have intelligence, love for the profession, have strength, we must step by step, make our image more and more noble, more and more honored.
It is not natural that society will change to respect us more, nor will our professions become more self-respecting, if we do not respect ourselves.
We need to do a very big thing to make society understand more, the advanced people sitting here need to do one more thing of the keyword spread which is to spread what we have done, what has been done, what is good about teachers.
We have 1.6 million teachers, those 1.6 must speak up, talk about what the education sector is doing, not let social media lead us and we complain, sad that "society doesn't understand us".
“1.6 million people need to spread, share and be the mainstream in society’s awareness of education. Hopefully, the teachers of the capital will not only be exemplary but also strive to become role models, a model for teachers in general and for the whole country,” the Minister said.
From the perspective of the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Minister said: We have been and will continue to have policy recommendations, persistently persuading the Party, Government and State to better understand and in fact are also gradually having more policies to improve the lives of teachers.
Reiterating the three words "safe": Students going to school safely, teachers working at school with peace of mind, parents bringing their children to school with peace of mind, the Minister hopes that each teacher will contribute to spreading those three words "safe" to society, so that teachers' work becomes better and better.
On the occasion of the upcoming Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Minister Nguyen Kim Son sends his best wishes to teachers.
Wishing you teachers to find more and more joy in your career, love your job more and more, love life more and be loved more by life.
