On June 14, Dinh Quan District Police (Dong Nai) prosecuted and temporarily detained Pham Minh Luc (residing in Long An) and 13 others to investigate the act of Intentionally causing injury.

Previously, Luc's group made an appointment with Phan Dinh Lam's group (living in Dong Nai) to come to Dinh Quan district to "talk" on the evening of May 20.

Before leaving, Luc called 13 more friends from Long An, Kien Giang, and Ca Mau provinces, brought machetes, pepper spray, pig-slaughtering knives... onto a 16-seat car, departing from Duc Hoa district (Long An province) to Dinh Quan district, to "resolve the conflict".

Upon receiving the news, force 161 coordinated with police from Gia Canh, Phu Ngoc, and Ngoc Dinh communes (Dinh Quan district) to patrol and block the checkpoint. When both groups were about to arrive at the meeting point, dozens of scouts rushed in, surrounded and arrested them, preventing the "melee".

At the scene, the police discovered that Luc's group's 16-seat car had many dangerous weapons, so they arrested them. When they discovered that their rival group had been arrested, Lam's group dispersed and fled that same night.
