Zirkzee misses penalty, Man Utd eliminated from FA Cup by Fulham

Man Utd beat Fulham in both matches in the Premier League this season. However, when meeting this opponent again in the FA Cup, the "Red Devils" in a crisis in both form and force had to suffer defeat right at home at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim's side endured a stalemate in the first half. Despite prioritising defence, Fulham were the more dangerous side, with Calvin Bassey putting the visitors ahead late in the first half from a corner.

Man Utd failed to improve the situation in the early stages of the second half. However, Bruno Fernandes' moment of brilliance helped the "Red Devils" equalize.

The two teams created an exciting match as both sides had dangerous opportunities. Man Utd were at a disadvantage with the ball possession rate falling below 40% in the second half as well as extra time. There were no more goals and the two teams had to decide the winner by penalty shootout.

Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee missed their last two shots. Meanwhile, Fulham successfully took all four shots and won.

This defeat caused Man Utd to be eliminated from the FA Cup. Coach Ruben Amorim and his team no longer have a chance to win a title in the domestic arena (ranked 14th in the Premier League and eliminated from 2 cup competitions). The "Red Devils" still have the Europa League to hold on to hope.
