On September 18, Korean media reported that the Violent Crime Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (South Korea) requested an emergency arrest warrant for actor Yoo Ah In and a man surnamed Choi (32 years old). They were accused of violating the drug control law, destroying evidence and evading charges.
Earlier this year, South Korean police began investigating Yoo Ah In after receiving documents from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety that showed the Korean actor had been using propofol (a banned substance in South Korea). As soon as the actor entered South Korea from the US in February, he was detained at the airport.

Investigators collected hair and urine samples for testing. According to the investigation results, authorities confirmed that the actor used five banned substances in Korea: propofol, marijuana, cocaine, ketamine and zolpidem.
According to the police investigation, Yoo Ah In has used propofol about 200 times at hospitals around Seoul (South Korea) since 2020. The Korean prosecutor's office suspects that the actor bought 500 million won (about 9.2 billion VND) worth of banned substances at hospitals in Seoul (South Korea). The reason for use was anesthesia for cosmetic surgery purposes.
In addition, the investigation results showed that the actor illegally used about 1,000 sleeping pills under the name of others on about a dozen occasions. Last January, he and four others used cocaine and marijuana in the US.
In May, the police requested an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In, but the court rejected it. After accepting the case, the prosecution reportedly conducted a three-month supplementary investigation and discovered that Yoo Ah In had asked an acquaintance to intentionally destroy evidence.

During the investigation, Yoo Ah In was also suspected of forcing some people to use illegal substances in the US. In addition, to conceal his drug use, Yoo Ah In is said to have forced his accomplices to flee abroad, threatened them, and asked them to retract their statements. Currently, Yoo Ah In has not commented on the above information.

The actor affirmed that he was completely honest and cooperative during the investigation. "I honestly presented my views. I was careful to say the content directly, but I believe I was wrong to assume that some of my deviant behaviors did not cause harm to others," Yoo Ah In shared.
Finally, the famous Korean "film king" admitted: "I know, everyone is upset to see me like this. I want to use this moment as an opportunity to live healthy moments that I have never lived before. I am truly sorry for disappointing all of you."
Although the final investigation results have not been announced, the drug scandal has ruined the reputation and ended the career of the actor born in 1986.
Brands immediately turned their backs on the 8X generation star. Many of Yoo Ah In's completed projects are at risk of being difficult to air. The scandal also caused him to lose the main role in the Korean TV blockbuster project - Hellbound 2.
