Hai Phong defeated Khanh Hoa 2-1 at home at Lach Tray Stadium, ending a streak of 6 winless matches in V-League 2023.

Hai Phong took an early lead thanks to Hai Huy. However, Khanh Hoa played solidly, waiting for an opportunity to equalize. They did so in the 56th minute. Jairo finished close to the goal after his teammate's cross hit Hai Huy and went to the far post.

Hai Phong attacked and Mpande won a penalty for the home team at Lach Tray Stadium when he was fouled by a Khanh Hoa player in the penalty area. Carlos made no mistake and secured a 2-1 victory.
