Attending the ceremony to celebrate and award the Labor Medal were comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Hai Duong - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Thanh Chuong District People's Council. Also attending were leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Thanh Chuong district and cadres, people and children of Thanh Lien commune.

Thanh Lien land was formed nearly 600 years ago, from the Le Dynasty (1427) and after many mergers and name changes; on March 23, 1954, the Nghe An Provincial Administrative Committee issued a decision to establish Thanh Lien commune until now. This is a rural area with a tradition of revolution and studiousness.

During the Soviet movement - Nghe Tinh 1930-1931, under the direct leadership of the Party cell established early in the locality, Thanh Lien farmers rose up to fight with Thanh Chuong district farmers to establish the first Soviet government of the whole country.

During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, all classes of people actively participated in fighting, serving the resistance, contributing human and material resources to bring peace and unity to the country. The whole commune has 194 martyrs, 160 wounded and sick soldiers, and 15 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. The country was unified, generations of Thanh Lien cadres and people competed in labor production, building a new life with great thinking, will, aspiration and breakthrough.

Especially in the 10 years (2013 - 2023), Thanh Lien Party Committee and People have united, innovated their thinking and working methods, persistently implemented strategic policies and orientations, and become a pioneer in Thanh Chuong district. Such as taking the lead in land consolidation, plot exchange, restructuring of crops and livestock, and applying mechanization and science and technology to production.

In the construction of new rural areas, with the viewpoint of practical and sustainable direction, the Party Committee and the Government have divided the direction, making sure that each step is done, so when it was recognized as meeting the new rural standards (in 2015), the locality had a number of criteria that met the advanced criteria and when it was recognized as an advanced new rural area (2022), it had many contents that met the criteria of a model new rural area. Currently, the Party Committee, the Government and the People of Thanh Lien are determined to reach the model new rural area by the end of 2024.

From the efforts and achievements, for 10 consecutive years (2013 - 2023), Thanh Lien Commune Party Committee has been classified as having excellently completed its tasks, including 9 years of excellently completing typical tasks; 5 times being awarded the excellent emulation flag by the Provincial People's Committee; the Provincial Party Committee awarded the Party Committee flag for 5 consecutive years of excellently completing typical tasks; in 2020, it was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Government. In particular, in 2022, it was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President.

On behalf of the leaders of Thanh Chuong province and district, speaking at the 70th anniversary celebration, receiving the Third-class Labor Medal and announcing the decision to recognize Thanh Lien commune as meeting advanced new rural standards, comrade Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee and People of Thanh Lien commune.

Analyzing the difficulties, challenges and new opportunities, the Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee hopes that the Party Committee and People of Thanh Lien will continue to build solidarity, enthusiasm, innovate thinking, and constantly be creative, bringing the locality to develop quickly and sustainably, first of all building a commune that meets the model new rural standards.
