On February 14, in Vung Tau City (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), the Naval Region 2 Command and agencies and units in the entire Long Son base organized the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho".
This is an activity to celebrate and respond to the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's launch of the "Tree Planting Festival" (1959-2024), the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Naval Region 2 (March 19, 2009 - March 19, 2024); towards the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024); implementing the program of planting one billion trees "For a green Vietnam" launched by the Prime Minister.

At the launching ceremony, Colonel Le Ba Quan, Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of Naval Region 2, thoroughly grasped and highlighted the purpose and significance of the ceremony. At the same time, he requested Party committees and commanders at all levels to continue to lead and direct the propaganda and education work for ministries and soldiers about the purpose and significance of tree planting; the role, great effects, comprehensive and long-term benefits, and humanistic values of planting and caring for trees in accordance with the planning of the barracks, soil conditions, quantity and species of trees. Organize practically, economically and effectively; promote the active participation and responsibility of all officers and soldiers in planting, caring for and protecting trees.

After the launching ceremony, on February 14, officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 2 Command and units throughout the base took care of trees and ornamental plants and reinforced the barracks' landscape.
In the coming time, the Naval Region 2 Command and its affiliated units will continue to plant over 3,000 new trees. Of these, there are 1,000 cajuput trees, 420 star trees, 550 oil trees, 165 mahogany trees, 530 royal poinciana trees, 520 bougainvillea trees... to green the barracks, creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment and landscape.
