The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked Myanmar to ensure security and create conditions for Vietnamese citizens to leave dangerous areas due to the complicated situation in some states.
The security situation in some northern states of Myanmar has become more complicated in recent days. This is an area where many Vietnamese citizens live and work, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in today's news.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar has developed citizen protection plans, actively discussed with local authorities, and requested Myanmar to have plans to support, ensure security, safety and living conditions for Vietnamese citizens, and create conditions for Vietnamese citizens to leave dangerous areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also discussed with Chinese and Myanmar authorities, requesting support for Vietnam in protecting citizens in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Vietnamese citizens should not or avoid traveling to Shan, Kayin and Rakhine states of Myanmar unless absolutely necessary. Citizens in these states should promptly have a proactive plan to safely evacuate people and property to a third country or to Vietnam , and regularly monitor information from local authorities and warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Brotherhood Alliance, comprising rebel groups the Arakan Army (AA), the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), launched Operation 1027 on October 27, attacking a series of Myanmar military bases.
This is considered the largest attack by rebel groups against the Myanmar military government since the 2021 coup.
The group claims to have taken control of dozens of outposts and four towns, and is blocking important trade routes to China. The AA announced on November 13 that it had seized several outposts of Myanmar security forces in Rathedaung and Minbya regions of Rakhine state.
